Circuit Court of Cook County Announces Continuance of Cases Scheduled at 727 E. 111th Street Due to Power Outage

Announcement, Press Release |

CHICAGO – Due to a weather-related loss of electrical power affecting the building located at 727 E. 111th Street, Chicago, Illinois, the Circuit Court of Cook County has ordered the continuance of all matters scheduled to be heard on June 11, 2026, at that location.

The outage has affected the entire building, and the timetable for restoration of electrical service remains unknown. To ensure public safety and the efficient administration of justice, Chief Judge Charles S. Beach II has entered an administrative order modifying court operations for Branches 35 and 38 of the First Municipal District.

Pursuant to the Order, all felony preliminary hearings scheduled to be heard on June 11, 2026 at 727 E. 111th Street shall be continued to June 18, 2026.

All other cases scheduled to be heard on June 11, 2026, at 727 E. 111th Street shall be continued to June 25, 2026.

“Our priority is ensuring the safety of court users, litigants, attorneys, and court personnel while minimizing disruption to court operations,” said Chief Judge Charles S. Beach II. “We appreciate the patience and cooperation of the public as we work through this temporary interruption in service.”

The Court is actively monitoring the situation and working with facility personnel and utility providers to determine when normal operations can safely resume at the 111th Street courthouse. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.

Members of the public and attorneys with matters scheduled at Branch Courts 35 and 38 are encouraged to monitor official court communications for updates regarding courthouse operations.
