Announcement, Press Release |
Judges from the Traffic Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County will participate in a Driver’s License Reinstatement Expo on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, providing individuals with Cook County traffic cases an opportunity to address matters that may be preventing them from regaining driving privileges.
The event, hosted by Pilsen Neighbors Community Council, will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Malcolm X College, 1900 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago. Preregistration is required, and participation is limited to individuals with Cook County traffic tickets or cases.
“For many people, unresolved traffic matters can create real barriers to employment, family responsibilities and daily life,” said Chief Judge Charles S. Beach II. “This expo is about giving individuals a meaningful opportunity to come to court, understand their options and take the necessary steps toward restoring their driving privileges in a structured, supportive setting.”
During the expo, official courtrooms will be established on-site and staffed by Cook County traffic judges. Eligible participants will be able to address qualifying traffic cases and receive guidance on the steps necessary toward driver’s license reinstatement. Attorneys will also be available to provide free legal counseling.
“This event provides an important opportunity for individuals to engage directly with the court and better understand the steps required to resolve outstanding traffic matters,” said Supervising Judge of the Traffic Section of the First Municipal District, the Hon. Diann K. Marsalek. “By bringing court resources into the community, we are helping remove barriers and supporting meaningful access to the justice system.”
The Circuit Court’s involvement reflects its ongoing commitment to improving access to justice and ensuring court processes are accessible, efficient and fair for the public. To date, the court has helped more than 5,000 individuals restore their driving privileges through similar initiatives.
